The tragic incident occurred in a small village with the same name.
The girl was said to have died shortly after being admitted at the Daura General Hospital.
It was gathered that doctors, who confirmed that she was rẳped, had tried frantically to save her life as she bled from her wounds.
A family source told journalists that Fatima was sent to a close-by Islamiyya School, but she returned around 5pm and complained of severe fever.
The source said that the mother of the deceased had asked her to go and lie down while she tried to do some house chores before attending to her.
“Shortly afterwards, the mother went into the room where she was lying down only to discover blood coming from her private part.
“Unknown to the mother, even at that time, she was already dead. She was taken to Daura General Hospital where she was certified dead,” the source said.
When contacted, the spokesman of state police command, SP Aminu Abubakar, said he was not aware of the incident.
Abubakar, however, promised to call the DPO in Sandamu to find out
